Front Office Administrative Assistant (Medical Background)

Kelly Services is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Front Office Administrative Assistant to join our medical practice. The Front Office Administrative Assistant will play a crucial role in providing administrative support to the front desk staff and ensuring a positive experience for patients and visitors. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  1. Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner, and direct them to the appropriate areas.
  2. Answer phone calls and inquiries, and provide information or assistance as needed.
  3. Schedule patient appointments, confirm appointments, and manage appointment calendars.
  4. Register new patients, collect and verify demographic and insurance information, and update patient records accurately.
  5. Verify insurance coverage, obtain pre-authorizations, and process insurance claims as necessary.
  6. Assist patients with completing medical forms and consent documents.
  7. Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, collect payments, and issue receipts.
  8. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area and waiting room.
  9. Coordinate with medical staff to ensure smooth patient flow and timely communication of patient needs.
  10. Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, scanning, copying, and faxing documents.
  11. Order and maintain office and medical supplies, and ensure equipment is in working order.
  12. Follow established protocols for handling confidential patient information and maintaining patient privacy.
  13. Collaborate with other administrative staff to support the overall operation of the medical practice.

Requirements:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in medical office administration is preferred.
  2. Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare office setting is required.
  3. Proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with patients, staff, and providers.
  5. Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  6. Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
  7. Ability to maintain composure and professionalism in high-pressure situations.
  8. Willingness to adhere to established policies, procedures, and protocols.
  9. Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance billing processes is a plus.

Location: Fort Worth

Hours: M-Thurs, 8am-2pm

Pay: $20-23hr
