Staff Doctor is Hiring a Solar Installer Near Rochester, NY

Are you an experienced construction professional looking to join PowerHIRED Solar's Rooftop Commercial (C&I) Solar PV installation team? We're seeking enthusiastic individuals who are passionate about renewable energy and thrive in a dynamic construction environment. Join our team of 3-8 installers and contribute to the installation of grid-tied, roof-mounted commercial PV systems across upstate New York.

General Responsibilities:

  • Install photovoltaic (PV) systems, including ballasted systems on flat roofs, pitched roofs, and ground-mounted systems.
  • Ensure job site safety in accordance with Company and OSHA standards.
  • Perform general construction tasks using hand and power tools, occasionally operating heavy machinery.
  • Handle heavy lifting of modules, ballasts, and installation materials.
  • Adhere to system design specifications and quality standards.
  • Manage and maintain personal and company tools and vehicles.
  • Practice company core values in all activities.
  • Follow instructions from Crew Leads and Project Managers.

Education & Qualification Requirements:

  • Strong teamwork skills with the ability to delegate work and solve problems.
  • Mentorship abilities to guide less experienced installers.
  • Solar experience not required for entry-level positions.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Willingness to learn and commit to safety standards.
  • Comfortable working at heights on flat roofs and in variable weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds repetitively and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • OSHA 10 certification.
  • Background in solar installation, roofing, or electrical trades.
