The Financial Reporting team at StackAdapt is responsible for overseeing technical accounting, management and external reporting, and partnering with P&C and Legal departments to manage the company’s equity plan. The team plays a pivotal role in the organization by gathering valuable business and industry insights as well as ensuring US GAAP and ICFR compliance.

Reporting to the Director of Financial Reporting, this role will work closely with Finance leads to perform accounting analysis on complex and non-recurring transitions and implementing new accounting policies and procedures. 

StackAdapt is a Remote First company, we are open to candidates in North America for this position. 

What you will be doing:

• Assess and provide recommendations of appropriate accounting treatment for complex and unusual transactions, including but not limited to revenue recognition on new streams of revenue activities and share-based compensation
• Responsible for maintain proper accounting position papers in accordance to US GAAP
• Review trial balance to ensure proper inter-entity elimination and consolidation
• Preparation and review of annual and quarterly financial statements 
• Monitor new accounting pronouncements and implement changes in accounting policies 
• Stay current on changes in customer MSA, reward and incentive plans and to our platform solutions 
• Participate in the development of the disclosure checklist program 
• Participate in the contract review process
• Responsible for providing company-wide training on accounting and other relevant topics
• Responsible for enhancing the internal controls over financial reporting frameworks
• Support internal and external audits 

• Strong technical accounting knowledge in US GAAP
• Strong financial and analytical skills; ability to exercise professional judgement in assessing business transactions and applying the relevant accounting rules
• Proven working experience in technical accounting and external reporting
• Experience in large, multinational public company reporting
• Advance proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Financial Reporting tools (Workiva or Active Disclosure) and Equity Administration tools (Global Shares, Carta or similar tool) 
• CPA, CA designation is strongly preferred
• Experience in public accounting at a Big 4 audit firm is a plus
