Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Housing Specialist to join our team. As a Housing Specialist, you will be responsible for providing support and assistance to individuals and families in need of affordable housing. Your expertise in property management, fair housing regulations, and crisis intervention will be essential in helping individuals find safe and suitable housing options. Responsibilities: - Conduct assessments to determine eligibility for housing programs such as Section 8 and LIHTC - Assist clients in completing housing applications and necessary paperwork - Provide guidance on available housing options and help clients navigate the rental market - Collaborate with property owners and managers to negotiate lease agreements - Ensure compliance with fair housing regulations and provide education on tenant rights and responsibilities - Coordinate with addiction counseling services to support clients with substance abuse issues - Provide crisis intervention services to individuals facing homelessness or other housing-related emergencies - Maintain accurate records of client interactions, assessments, and referrals Experience: - Previous experience in property management or related field is preferred - Familiarity with OneSite software or similar property management systems is a plus - In-depth knowledge of fair housing regulations and procedures - Experience working with Section 8 programs and LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) - Strong understanding of addiction counseling principles and crisis management techniques - Ability to interpret and apply relevant laws, regulations, and policies related to affordable housing programs We offer competitive compensation packages including benefits such as health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and professional development opportunities.
