    Position Description
    Flagstaff Academy seeks a Special Education Paraprofessional for the 2024-25 school year. The position requires close collaboration with our school’s Special Education students and team, serving students in kindergarten through eighth grade.
    Qualifications Sought
    We seek a talented educator who can support students while being inspired by our mission -“where science and technology take flight.” The successful candidate is expected to deliver dynamic educational experiences working with students having a variety of disabilities.
    Specifically, we seek an educator with:
    • experience with math and literacy instruction,
    • good communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills,
    • the ability to work collaboratively,
    • ability to form positive relationships with children,
    • expertise with integrating technology effectively,
    • and the ability to use good judgment in problem solving and decision making.
    Major Responsibilities and Duties:
    • Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning material or skillsintroduced by teachers
    • Support students in the general education classroom and resource classroom
    • Use progress monitoring tools to track student progress
    • Guide independent study, enrichment and/or remedial work as assigned by teachers
    • Assist with the supervision of students during meals, emergency drills, assemblies, playperiods, or field trips
    • Assist with supervision of daily routines and schedules
    • Participate in appropriate staff development as required to ensure professional growth
    • Participate in staff meetings and department meetings as required by supervisor
    • Perform other duties as assigned
    Job Skills and Qualifications:
    • High school diploma required; college degree preferred
    • Experience working with students with disabilities
    • Strong systems orientation and commitment to follow-through
    • Experience working with elementary and middle school students
