ST VINCENT DE PAUL SOCIETY OF SAN FRANCISCO is Hiring a Special Events and Social Media Associate Near San Francisco, CA

Job Summary:

The Events and Social Media Associate plays an important role in all the fundraising efforts of St. Vincent de Paul San Francisco (SVDP-SF). Specifically, the Associate is responsible for planning, organizing, and facilitating fundraising events, and managing all e-communications, including social media accounts.

Classification: Non-exempt, full-time,non-union Pay range: $27.50 - $31.75 per hour

Reports to: Development Director Where: 1175 Howard, San Francisco

Benefit Overview:

Kaiser HMO plan with no premium cost through 6/30/24. Voluntary dental, vision, and life insurance plans. 403b retirement plan with employer-paid match of 1% after 1 year of employment. Goals and Specific Responsibilities

Special Events:

  • Develop and manage pre-and-post-event timelines, calendar, and schedule of meetings.
  • Serve as point person on all event sponsorship-related activities.
  • Solicit in-kind gifts for events.
  • Develop content for event collateral (including signage, invitations, flyers, etc.).
  • Assist the Development Director and team in overseeing various activities related to the event, including vendors, MC/Auctioneer, entertainment, event program, volunteers, and staffing.
  • Manage ticket sales and interactions with local conferences.
  • Oversee all day-of financial transactions (auction, fund-a-need, etc.).
  • Lead event debrief and future event recommendations process.

Communications:

  • In coordination with the Development Director, produce and deliver content to key constituent groups to deepen their engagement with SVDP-SF – utilizing the website, digital communications, monthly e-newsletters, and other e-announcements to donors and volunteers.
  • Develop and maintain an annual communication calendar.
  • Assist in the production of fundraising appeals, including developing content and coordinating mailing.
  • Responsible for email marketing through Constant Contact, list building, and keeping social media accounts current and relevant.
  • Maintain accuracy of data entries and periodically clean up Constant Contact and organize mailing lists.
  • Develop content for social media posts for events, campaigns, and current issues related to homelessness and domestic violence.
  • Manage the day-to-day maintenance of our website, working with the website hosting platform for modifications to webpages as needed. 

General administrative duties:

  • Assist the Donor Database Manager in processing donations and grant awards and fill in as backup when needed.
  • Manage the SVDP-SF brand and ensure logos, fonts, and collateral design elements are presented with consistency.
  • Assist in processing invoices and reconciling monthly payments.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to multi-task. Must be able to handle Special Events and Communications Responsibilities simultaneously. Additional key qualifications include:

  • Commitment to the mission of St. Vincent de Paul Society of San Francisco.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively on a team.
  • Familiarity and experience with social media, updating web platforms, and digital communications tools.
  • Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and discretion about confidential matters
  • Professional standards including follow-through, responsiveness, and ability to receive constructive feedback.

Requirements

Minimum of a BA degree or equivalent experience.

Minimum three years of experience producing events.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and experience with fundraising software such as Raisers Edge, Salesforce, Constant Contact, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.

Experience with the design, layout, and production of newsletters, brochures, websites, and other organizational publications.

Experience with fundraising in the Bay Area.

Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday on site, with occasional evenings and weekends as required. COVID-19 immunization and boosters are required. A background check is required on acceptance of the job offer.
