Come join our St Vincent de Paul team! We're hiring motivated, reliable, and enthusiastic individuals for Full-time Donation Attendant positions at our West side location on Hansen Rd. The ideal candidate has previous experience loading/unloading trucks, accepting donations and using a pallet jack to move merchandise. The ideal candidate will assist with sorting clothing, pricing & tagging merchandise. We will train an eager candidate if he or she is self-motivated, is a team-player and is able to adjust daily work duties to accommodate the needs of the business. Forklift experience is a plus. This position will be scheduled 40 hours weekly and will include weekend hours. Hours are a range of days between Mon - Sat 10:30a - 6:30p *There will be one day off during the week based on the needs of the store.
Minimum qualifications are:
High School diploma or equivalent
Good oral and written communication skills is a MUST
Ability to remain calm and focused during stressful situations
Ability to multitask and complete tasks within time frame
Receptive to feedback and ability to modify as necessary
Ability to work a flexible schedule
Consistent attendance is a MUST!!
Access to reliable transportation to work
This is a physical job. You will be on your feet! Boots on the ground mentality and capability! Must be able to stand and walk continuously; push/pull, bend at waist, reach above head and grasp frequently, and lift and carry up to 50 lbs on a regular basis and possibly 100 lbs occasionally with help. **This position requires likely work outside in rain, snow and heat.
Key responsibilities:
Providing good customer service while accepting donations
Assisting with loading and unloading of trucks
Sorting clothing
Maintaining the cleanliness, safety and organization of the dock/donation area
Using a pallet jack to move merchandise from dock to processing to warehouse to store
Sorting and preparing other donated merchandise for immediate pricing, wrapping or salvage
Ensuring that the dock area is locked/secured when store closes
Tagging and pricing items as directed
Cleaning areas of store and maintain a safe working area
Other duties as assigned
