Overview For Medical Records and Referral Position:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as a Medical Records Clerk. As a Medical Records Clerk, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate and up-to-date medical records for our patients. This position requires knowledge of medical terminology, HIPAA regulations, insurance verification, and medical coding.

Responsibilities:
- Organize and maintain patient medical records in accordance with established procedures
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of all medical records
- Retrieve and file medical records as needed
- Process requests for release of medical information in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Verify insurance information and update patient records accordingly
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure accurate documentation of patient care
- Maintain confidentiality and security of all patient information

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certification in medical records management is a plus
- Previous experience working in a medical office or healthcare setting preferred)
- Knowledge of medical terminology and coding systems (ICD-9) is essential
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and guidelines for maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Note: This is a paid position.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
