St. Peter's Health Partners is seeking a new Director for the Samaritan School of Nursing!
POSITION SUMMARY: The Director has 24-hour accountability for the effective and efficient operation of the School of Nursing (SON). The Director is responsible for academic planning, program evaluation and coordination of daily operations for the SON. This individual directs and evaluates the school’s Assistant Director, faculty and staff. In collaboration with the Director of our sister school, program continuity and policy standardization are coordinated. Assumes responsibility for the administration of the School of Nursing. This includes supervision of the curriculum, recruitment of students, admission, financial aid, faculty and staff as well as budgeting, hiring and strategic planning for the School.
MENTAL/VISUAL/PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Moderate physical activity. Physical requirements consistent with Registered Professional Nurse requirements. The Director must be able to sit and stand for long periods of time. Manual dexterity sufficient for computer operations is necessary. Visual and auditory acuity are needed for performance evaluation and feedback. Ability to travel between campuses in the Acute Care Division, SPHP affiliates and community is required. Occasional overnight travel for professional development and/or committee participation is required.
PATIENT SENSITIVITY: The Director ensures that the faculty and staff adhere to the stipulations of HIPAA and FERPA. The Director models and enforces competent, respectful and confidential interaction for faculty, staff and students.
TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE: The Director position requires a broad range of knowledge related to nursing practice, human resource management, fiscal management, customer relations and performance improvement. In addition, the Director must have specialized knowledge of principles of nursing education which allows for evaluation of current programs, curriculum development and ongoing development of school policies guided by best practices in nursing education and regulatory standards.
PROBLEM-SOLVING: The Director position has full responsibility and authority for decision making within the area of accountability. High level problem-solving skills requiring fair interpretation, critical thinking and constructive resolution.
INTERNAL/EXTERNAL CONTACTS: The Director is responsible for maintaining effective communication and positive relationships with internal contacts and a broad range of external contacts (community, academic and regulatory agencies). A moderate degree of formal and informal marketing is involved with public presentations as needed.
PLANNING: The Director is a highly responsible position that impacts student outcomes, faculty and staff effectiveness, customer relations, fiscal outcomes and overall reputation and marketability of the school. Strategic planning initiatives are implemented in conjunction with system goals and the school of nursing advisory council. Operational planning is implemented in conjunction with faculty, staff and students.
REQUIREMENTS:
Pay Range: $45.91 - $73.46
Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
