If so, Saint Peter School in Cambridge, MA, invites you to apply for the position of Director of Student Support!We are seeking a passionate and dedicated educator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic advocate for student learning, possessing the skills and knowledge to create a positive and engaging classroom environment, support students who need additional help, and create a demanding but compassionate educational environment that helps students to meet their God-given potential. This individual will play a pivotal role in shaping the academic and personal development of our students across all grade levels, fostering a love of Jesus, a desire for learning, and a passion for building community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Assistant Head of School for Academics and Instruction to develop comprehensive student support programs aligned with the school's mission and values; addressing academic, social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
  • Provide individualized support and case management to students with diverse learning needs or other exceptional needs, monitoring progress and emphasizing growth.
  • Collaborate with the Assistant Head of School for Academics and Instruction to implement individualized education plans (IEPs), 504 Plans, and Student Support Plans (SSP) and coordinate necessary accommodations and resources.
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students in every classroom.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration between student support staff, teachers, and parents to optimize student outcomes.
  • Collaborate with the Assistant Head of School for Academics and Instruction to refer students and their families to appropriate external counseling services or agencies.
  • Collect and analyze data related to student support programs, interventions, and outcomes.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for school leadership, providing insights and recommendations for enhancing student support services.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Prior experience teaching elementary or middle school students; experience in a Catholic school and/or in a lead teacher position are a plus.
  • As this position includes religious instruction, applicants should be practicing Catholics with a clear understanding of the Catholic faith. We are looking for individuals who are eager to share their faith and values with our students.
  • Strong knowledge of elementary and middle curriculum standards and instructional best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and administrators.
  • Passion for working with children and a commitment to fostering the growth of their faith life, academic potential, and social/emotional health.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional growth and development.

Salary Range: Our salary range starts at $56,000 but is negotiable based on experience. Full time positions include a full suite of benefits including health, dental, 401k match, and more, offered through RCAB.
