Summer at The St. Paul’s Schools is searching for PreK teachers to work at our Gatorland Day Camp for summer 2024.

School Overview

The St. Paul’s Schools is a family of independent schools located in Brooklandville, Maryland. With more than 1,400 students from ages 6 weeks to grade 12, St. Paul’s Pre and Lower School (coed), St. Paul’s School for Girls, and St. Paul’s School for Boys share a 120-acre campus, an Episcopal affiliation, and a focus on developing confident, well balanced students who will use their education and ethics to improve the world. In July 2018, the schools unified under the umbrella of The St. Paul's Schools, with a single board of trustees and one president, but each school retains its individual traditions and its gender-specific programs. A coordinated structure allows The St. Paul’s Schools to preserve the small-school feel within each school while sharing resources and certain programs to maximize opportunities for students. With St. Paul’s unique model, boys and girls are taught together and separately at just the right times in their development.

Summer is a priceless time, and our auxiliary programs allow both boys and girls to experience preeminent facilities and our spacious green campus under the loving and wise guidance of carefully selected and trained counselors and teachers. Safety and supervision are essential components of our program, and we are excited for your child to experience the magic of child-centered, hands-on, and well-crafted fun!

At Summer at The St. Paul’s Schools, we look forward to supporting and guiding our campers as their strengths are made stronger in our community that feels like home.

Position Description

Specifically, our Gatorland Day Camp for ages PreK through 5th grade, we are looking for two established PreK teachers to work with our rising PreK students in all day camp activities. Based in a safe and age appropriate space, this program promises to provide a wide range of imaginative activities designed to encourage a camper’s social, artistic and physical development.

For summer 2024, we are looking for a PreK Assistant to work our full Gatorland Day Camp program from June 17 – August 9. In addition, we are looking for two lead PreK teachers to cover our weeks from July 29 – August 9. Gatorland Day Camp will be closed on Wednesday, June 19, Thursday, July 4 and Friday, July 5 to recognize the Juneteenth and Independence Day holidays.

Early childhood or elementary teaching experience preferred, but not required. All successful candidates will be excited to engage with students in fun and creative activities throughout the day. Candidates will work with leadership team to help navigate students through the daily schedule from activities, lunch, snacks, swimming and carpool to ensure a positive experience for all our campers.

The St. Paul’s Schools are committed to creating a supportive learning environment where all individuals are valued for their unique contributions and are able to achieve their highest potential. We strongly believe that a diverse and inclusive environment is the best learning environment for our students and prepares them to live, work, and thrive in an increasingly global and multicultural community. We reject all prejudice, particularly those based on race, national and ethnic origin, religion, socioeconomic status, gender identity, sexual orientation, and physical characteristics.

As you know, COVID-19 has been declared a worldwide pandemic by the World Health Organization. While COVID-19 is highly contagious, the School is taking precautions and implementing safety measures to prevent the spread. All members of the School community have a shared responsibility to support and comply with policies and protocols to protect the health and safety of our community. As an additional mitigation measure and to further aid in preventing the spread of COVID-19, the School is requiring all employees to be vaccinated against COVID-19 and to provide documentation demonstrating that they are vaccinated unless they have been granted a religious or medical exemption to this policy as an accommodation.
