This role can be performed remotely or from our York, PA office with a Monday/Wednesday in-office plan.

Summary/objective:

In this position, you will use your analytical skills and process improvement experience to make a meaningful impact on the healthcare industry. Our work is project based and involves healthcare facility design, process improvement, and inventory replenishment system assessment, selection and implementation.

Essential Job Functions:

As a Senior Project Engineer at St. Onge, you will combine quantitative methods, strategic thinking, and innovative technology to impact our nation’s premier hospitals and health systems. You will work with a diverse team of engineers, architects, clinicians, and executives, contribute to the design of healthcare facilities, and plan operations that enable the delivery of safe, efficient, and effective patient care. At St. Onge, you will be at the forefront of engineering better healthcare and partner with the most well-respected healthcare institutions in the U.S. and across the globe.

Experience Requirement:

  • 4 years of job-related experience.
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to manipulate data in databases and spreadsheets. (A high level of proficiency in MS Excel or MS Access or other database tools, MS Office, and MS Project).
  • High attention to detail.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Analyst data training.
  • Serve as a reference for Engineers.
  • Possible supervision of an Analyst on larger or more complex projects.

Education Requirement:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (Master’s Degree preferred) in addition to 4 years of experience is preferred)

• Lean Six Sigma certification is a plus.

• Strong analytical experience related to degree with significant experience (in a hospital or medical facility environment preferred), conducting cost analysis, layout design, time studies, or inventory analysis required

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delineate and coordinate work tasks with analysts and engineers on assigned projects.
  • Lead the development of project deliverables and audits work from analysts and engineers for accuracy, completeness, and relevance.
  • Assist in developing and reviewing project deliverables, including presentations, narratives, and other required project outputs. 
  • Present data analysis, findings, and recommendations during client meetings.
  • Proactive communication with project manager on work status, which includes identifying roadblocks and challenges with recommended action to address.
  • Proactively monitors the progress of work and identifies solutions to address gaps and/or challenges. 
  • Supports client meeting(s) by communicating key action items and other important information such as: progress to date, challenges, and roadblocks.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert for a particular type of work or multiple types of project work.
  • Leads research of equipment and other applicable systems and technologies.
  • Assist in identifying and supporting the improvements of existing and new tools & models.
  • Assist in training analysts & engineers on internal processes and procedures related to tools & models. Other training support may be required.
  • Perform duties of data analyst & engineer when junior resources are not available.
  • Perform other duties assigned by management, as requested.

Work Environment:

Primarily a controlled office environment. Client sites could consist of hospital environments or warehouse operations, and conditions may vary.

Physical Demands:

St Onge Company operates both hybrid and remote office options. Client site visits may entail walking tours through the hospital support service and patient care areas. Projects may entail lifting materials up to 50 lbs. 

Travel Requirements:

Travel is client dependent and typically ranges from 10-15%. Travel will vary from project to project. Travel may be extensive at times and less extensive at other times and may include occasional overnights. Travel may be local car travel, regional train travel, or domestic or international Air travel.
