St. Nicholas Cathedral School is Hiring a Middle School Math Teacher Near Chicago, IL

Summary:

St. Nicholas Cathedral School is located in the heart of Ukrainian Village. It welcomes students of diverse learning needs. As a middle school teacher, you will need to explain subjects in a way that students will understand. Your activities may include:

  • Planning curriculum targeting different areas related to language arts and writing
  • Creating schedules and routines, ensuring strong classroom management
  • Updating parents on their child’s progress with accurate recordkeeping and progress monitoring to assure all students are learning.
  • Leading an after-school club or activity tailored to student interest
  • Encourage daily reading to build fluency, comprehension, vocabulary skills and a love for ready!

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities in math based on individual and school-wide learning goals.
  • Create positive educational climate for students to learn in.
  • Meet course and school-wide student performance goals.
  • Participate in ongoing training sessions and school-wide professional development activities.
  • Create lesson plans and modify accordingly on a regular basis.
  • Maintain accurate student attendance in attendance portal.
  • Use formative assessments to gauge student understanding.
  • Create projects designed to enhance curriculum and student learning.
  • Read and stay abreast of current topics in education.
  • Utilize various curriculum resources.
  • Integrate competencies, goals, and objectives into lesson plans.
  • Utilize curricula that reflect the diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of the students served.
  • Develop incentives to keep participants active in class.
  • Work with leadership team to ensure school-wide initiatives are being met.
  • Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
  • Prepare and distribute required reports.
  • Observe and evaluate student's performance regularly.
  • Manage student behavior in the classroom by invoking approved behavior management techniques.
  • Promote positive relationships between home and school through regular and varied communication opportunities.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Illinois Teaching Certificate
  • Two years teaching experience
  • Middle School or High School Endorsement preferred
  • Ability to teach Math in grades 5-8

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $34,955.00 - $46,000.00 per year
