The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at St. Mary's University is inviting applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor of Physical Chemistry. The position is expected to begin August 2024. A Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry or closely related field and prior teaching experience are required; ABD candidates will be considered. Primary teaching responsibilities include Physical Chemistry lecture and laboratory and General Chemistry lecture and laboratory, but the candidate may also participate in Advanced Chemistry courses in the applicant's area of expertise. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to innovative undergraduate teaching and research, including seeking external funding. The successful candidate will participate in Department and University committees and meetings, advise undergraduate majors, and take part in service activities outside the Department. The Department is ACS approved and is committed to providing a diverse, equitable, and inclusive learning environment.
