The School of Science, Engineering, and Technology (SET) at St. Mary's University, a private, four-year Catholic Marianist University located in San Antonio, Texas, invites nominations and applications for a tenure-line position (9-month contract) at the assistant professor rank in industrial engineering with an expertise in manufacturing. Candidates should have the ability to teach a broad range of courses across the manufacturing engineering discipline covering topics such as manufacturing processes, industrial automation, computer-aided manufacturing, industrial robotics, rapid prototyping, industry 4.0, smart manufacturing. The position will be available beginning in the fall semester of 2024 or Spring 2025. This position requires a Ph.D. in industrial or manufacturing engineering or a closely related discipline and a commitment to excellence in teaching, research, program development and evaluation, teamwork, and service.

In particular, the successful candidate will teach effectively, establish a strong, funded, research program with involvement of students leading to publications in refereed journals or peer-reviewed conferences, work inclusively with a diverse student body, faculty and staff colleagues in a multicultural environment, collaborate with industry partners, and participate in all aspects of the department's activities. Strong oral and written communication skills are essential.
About the Department of Engineering:
The Engineering Department houses six other undergraduate engineering majors in addition to industrial engineering. The M.S Industrial Engineering and Management is one of the three graduate programs within the department. The position also provides support to the other engineering disciplines.
