Position Summary:

The Nutrition Care Representative performs clerical duties associated with the nutritional care and delivery of food service to St. Mary's Regional Medical Center patients.The Nutrition Care Representative plays a key role in customer satisfaction within the food and nutrition services department by acting as a liaison between nursing units and food service areas.

The position is full time, 4 days per week, shifts are 10.5 hours and could be 5:30am-4pm, or 7:30am-6pm. Every other weekend is required.

Job Duties:

• Receives and processes diet and supplement orders from physicians and dietitians, as well as room changes, admissions, and discharges, and updates this information in the Nutrition Management software in the computer.
• Prints and distributes daily menus for the patients to fill out based on the previously mentioned diet orders. Assists patients with menu completion as needed.
• Updates computer software with menu choices in order to generate meal tickets and production sheets for the kitchen.
• Answers phone calls that range from questions related to menu choices to requests for floor stock. Records phone calls in electronic call logs.
• Participates in QA/PI projects including patient feedback surveys and test trays.
• Works closely with dietitians to assist in implementing recommended nutrition interventions for patients.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Must be competent in basic computer skills and programs such as Microsoft Office, and willing to learn new programs such as Epic, Computrition, and Point Click Care.
• Must be proficient in customer service skills, both in person and over the phone.
• Must be punctual and reliable. Adheres to all break times.
• Works well with others as part of a team.
• Must be able to provide documented vaccination against or immunity to the following: Measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, hepatitis B, influenza, and COVID-19.
