Position Summary:

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

• Aware of potential for cross contamination from sharps, instrumentation, body fluids, etc. and seeks to protect self and others through proper handling and disposal according to hospital policy.
• Check and clean all equipment with appropriate disinfectant and opens and dismantles all instrumentation prior to cleaning with regard to confining and containment.
• Knowledgeable of washer/decontaminate, cleaning solutions to be used in machine, instruments to be ran in machine, and cycles to be used.
• Knowledgeable of sonic cleaner, cleaning solutions to be used in machine, and instruments to be ran in machine.
• Knowledgeable of instruments and content of instrument trays including preparation, wraps, chemical monitoring, and packaging of trays to ensure sterility and delivery onto the sterile field.

Requirements:

• Sterile Processing Tech (Non-Certified) minimal experience with completion of formal training in the field preferred.
• Previous surgical experience preferred.
• Typing and basic computer skills preferred.
• BLS required.
