Description

OVERVIEW:

Performs various household duties such as weekly cleaning of Resident’s rooms or apartments. Keep the premises of the facility in clean and orderly condition by performing the following duties. Blood and body fluids exposure: Category II.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Keeps confidential all information not specifically authorized to be given to others.
  • Must be able to work independently, with minimal direct supervision.
  • Performs a variety of cleaning tasks in various areas, including Resident rooms, which may include, but not limited to, mop, dust mop, vacuum, polish, pick up and empty trash, scour kitchen & bathrooms, and wash windows as directed.
  • Will be cross trained in all aspects of EVS including, but not limited to, Resident apartments, Healthcare, and Floor Maintenance.
  • Cleans and maintains appearance for common areas, furniture arrangements, tidiness.
  • Reports to Manager on the need to repair and improve appearance of facility, facility furniture, fixtures, ceilings, walls, floors, and equipment.
  • Cleans and maintains all floors including rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms and other work areas.
  • Sweeps, scrubs, and buffs floors as needed or requested.
  • Vacuums, extracts, and shampoos carpets as needed or requested.
  • Demonstrates proper handling and disposal of biomedical and hazardous waste as required by regulatory agencies.
  • Utilizes personal protective equipment i.e., gloves, goggles, etc.
  • Demonstrates the correct and safe use of chemicals, supplies, and equipment.
  • Delivers Resident's personal clothing when needed.
  • Keeps cleaning equipment in clean and orderly fashion.
  • Observes and follows safety policies and procedures.
  • Observes and follows infection control policies and procedures.
  • Attends all mandatory in-services as required.
  • Demonstrates positive guest relations to internal and external customers.
  • Changes light bulbs as needed.
  • Changes and cleans A/C filters and vents as needed.
  • Unclog toilets as needed.
  • Prepares apartments for showing and performs detailing for moving-in closings.
  • Services guest apartments and models.
  • Team Members are required to report to their department Director all incidents of actual or possible abuse of a Resident that they become aware of. Abuse in this respect includes, but is not limited to, verbal, sexual, physical, and/or mental abuse, corporal punishment, involuntary seclusion, neglect, and/or any misappropriation of property concerning St. Mark Village Residents. Team Members will make the report as soon as possible after they become aware of the incident of actual or possible abuse.
  • Team Member must be able to work a flexible schedule.
  • May be assigned other related duties and responsibilities required by Plant Operations Manager or Director.
  • Must be able to work in environments where cats and dogs reside.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Must be courteous, considerate, and understanding when dealing with Residents, team members and visitors. Ability to work in close cooperation with others.

REQUIRED SKILLS, EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Less than high school education; or up to one-month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and interpret documents in English such as safety rules, instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively when communicating with Residents or Team Members of facility.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one-or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The Team Member is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
