St. Margaret's Episcopal School is seeking a Full-Time year round School Nurse to start as soon as possible.
The School Nurse provides nursing care which promotes, maintains and restores optimal health for students, parents, faculty, staff and others. The School Nurse will work directly with the Health and Wellness team and uphold St. Margaret?s key standards of caring, commitment and confidentiality. The full-time schedule includes school retreats and extra shifts and/or days as assigned by the Assistant Head of School for Health and Wellness. The nurse must be available to work primarily 9am-5pm shifts during the school year to cover after school programming and must be flexible with summer hours depending on the needs of the health and wellness team and summer programming.
Key responsibilities include:
? Provide nursing care to students from preschool- grade 12, including documentation of all care via an electronic health record system.
? Assess and manage medical emergencies that may occur on campus, such as anaphylaxis, head injuries, musculoskeletal injuries, seizures, etc. based on school protocols.
? Ability to complete administrative tasks related to the management and care of students, including basic proficiency of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google based programs.
? Strong team-based skills and ability to collaborate with other health team members, including two other full-time registered nurses, athletic trainer, and school counselors.
? Serve as the camp nurse for the Special Camp for Special Kids program, which runs for three weeks each summer for children with special needs. This requires competency independently managing children with acute health care needs such as tracheostomy care, tube feedings, seizure management,
Key requirements include:
? Bachelor?s Degree required from an accredited university.
? Valid California state Registered Nurse license.
? Current CPR and First Aid certifications.
? Minimum of two years nursing experience in school health, public health and/or child health; or any combination of training and/or experience that could likely provide the desired knowledge and abilities.
Compensation: $85,000 - $95,000
