The Vaccine Management Field Specialist is responsible for assisting the Director of Vaccine Management with all day-to-day management activities for the SLPG Vaccine Management department. Responsible include assisting with the implementation of effective processes for vaccine management including vaccine storage equipment procurement, vaccine data logger procurement/ installation/maintenance, SLPG practice audits, and related data analytics. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Works in close coordination with the SLPG Director of Vaccine Management managing program planning, implementation, capacity building, monitoring, and reporting on all VFC/CDC/SLPG vaccine-related regulations and standard operating procedures. Supports the work of VFC/CDC personnel and vaccine manufacturers involved with cold chain maintenance and maintaining and/or improving vaccine stability & viability including monitoring of cold chain equipment. Serves as the backup Dickson One Account Administrator and facilitates digital data logger (DDL)implementation Undertakes annual practice audits to monitor the implementation of VFC/CDC regulatory guidelines and best practices and provides technical input to address gaps in said implementation. Technical Assistance: Supports SLPG staff in all activities pertaining to vaccine logistics and cold chain management within SLPG. Maintains accurate records: (1) Maintains a database of SLPG practices that provide vaccines to patient populations(2) Maintains a database of SLPG practice linkage status to various vaccine purchasing groups. Prepares periodic status reports, annual reports, case studies, etc. in a qualitative and timely manner. Serves as a resource to EPIC EMR team for maintenance of vaccine documentation processes. Works collaboratively with vaccine manufacturers in activities related to vaccine purchase and vaccine stability and viability assessment. PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS: Sitting for up to 8 hours per day, 3 hours at a time. Consistent use of hands and fingers for typing, telephones, data entry, etc. Occasional twisting and turning. Uses upper extremities to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Stoops, bends, kneels, and reaches above shoulder level. Hearing as it relates to normal conversation. Seeing as it relates to general vision. Visual monotony when reading reports and reviewing computer screen. EDUCATION: High school diploma required.
