Overview

St. Luke’s Health System in Boise is seeking an Part-Time (0.8 FTE) Employee Health Nurse 2 to join our Employee Health Clinic team located at SL Plaza.

The Employee Health Clinic RN will train medical staff, complete new employee processing, triage phone calls and in clinic patients, drug screens, fit tests, manage Bloodborne Pathogen and Communicable Disease Exposures and more.

Schedule: Tuesday - Friday (may vary some weeks), 07:30 - 1600

Responsibilities

The Employee Health Nurse 2 provides for and delivers health and safety programs and services to workers and worker populations. The practice focuses on promotion and restoration of health, prevention of illness and injury, and protection from work-related and environmental hazards.

  • Assesses occupational, environmental, and personal health history and applies knowledge of work processes and hazards/exposures for accurate clinical decision making for pre-placement, fitness for duty, and return to work decisions.
  • Recognizes, educates and advises workers on identifying, reducing and eliminating health and safety risks in the work environment and addresses any potentially unsafe equipment or procedures.
  • Conducts assessment of work and non-work related injuries/illnesses and provides appropriate treatment and referral.
  • Assesses immunization status and administers immunizations to prevent the spread of communicable diseases.
  • Provides education about preventing exposure to communicable diseases as well as post-exposure evaluation and surveillance for employees exposed to potentially infectious diseases.
  • Facilitates, investigates, and provides necessary follow-up for the drug screening process.
  • Evaluates information and data to continually assess current state and engages with key stakeholders to problem solve and effectively manage change for optimal employee health, safety, and well-being.
  • Promotes a culture of health by educating and administering testing, evaluations, safety walk-rounds, and screenings that support employee health, safety and well-being programs.
  • Participates in committees and process improvements to represent employee health subject matter expertise as well as develops and presents employee health, safety, and well-being data to leadership.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's of Nursing Degree
  • Experience: 1 years or more
  • Licenses/Certifications: Current RN licensure in State of Practice and Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Certified through American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
