St Luke is Hiring a Licensed Psychologist -Doctorate-SL Corrections Medicine Near DULUTH, MN

  • JOB SUMMARY
    • The Licensed Psychologist-Doctorate performs psychological evaluations. Provides psychological services. Teaches and communicates psychological principles.
  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
    • Education: Ph.D. or Psy.D. with a concentration in Psychology from an accredited institution.
    • Experience: Satisfactory completion of St. Luke’s initiated employment background check pursuant to Minnesota Statute 604.20.
    • Licensure/Certification/Registration: Minnesota Board of Psychology license. Eligible to obtain a medical assistance provider number from the Minnesota Department of Health and Human Services. Wisconsin Background Study upon hire and renewed per Wisconsin state law.
  • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
    • Education: N/A
    • Experience: Three (3) years post-degree professional experience in the field of mental health; previous experience in Psych testing and Health Care Psychology.
    • Licensure/Certification/Registration: N/A
  • KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
    • Interviewing techniques; normal and abnormal behavior; psychological testing and interpretation; mental disorders; developmental stages and life tasks; rules of conduct established by the Minnesota Board of Psychology governing the professional practice of psychology; knowledge/awareness of one's own personal limits and when to refer clients; variety of therapeutic theoretical constructs and treatment modalities; continuum of care; Hospital and community resources; requirements for licensure by the Minnesota Board of Psychology. Conduct evaluations and formulate treatment plans; administer and interpret a variety of psychometric measures; diagnose mental disorders; exercise good judgment and accept personal responsibility; establish and maintain a safe, therapeutic and confidential environment; conduct individual, family and group therapy, employing a variety of theoretical styles and therapeutic strategies; build rapport with difficult clients and withstand manipulation; keep accurate medical records; express oneself clearly verbally and in writing and interrelate with other healthcare professionals; understand and follow complex oral and written directions; public speaking and educational training; establish and maintain constructive working relationships with colleagues, supervisory, administrative and community persons; identify and establish liaisons with appropriate community resources; facilitate referrals appropriately; to hear and see.
    • READING - Advanced: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquires or complaints.
    • WRITING - Intermediate: Ability to write routine reports, correspondence, or procedures.
    • SPEAKING - Intermediate: Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one, small group situations or before groups of customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
    • MATHEMATICAL SKILLS - Basic Skills: Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
    • REASONING ABILITY - Advanced Skills: Ability to define and solve problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions and deal with a variety of concrete and abstract variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
    • AGE SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES - Skilled at assessment and knowledgeable of growth and development. Provides appropriate care respective to the ages of the patients served per clinical environment.
