St. Luke's School is Hiring a Development Assistant Near Canaan, CT

Position Overview

The Development Office seeks a full-time Development Assistant to support the Director of Development at St. Luke’s School. The Development Assistant is responsible for helping to coordinate development activities. This person will be highly organized and a strong communicator, acting as a representative of the school to various stakeholders. In addition, the Development Assistant, as a member of the Development Team, shares in the creation of comprehensive strategies to excel at achieving strength in total voluntary support for St. Luke’s School.

Primary Job Functions

● Assist the Director of Development with scheduling, communication and office management.

● Support the Director of Development with volunteer meetings, mailings and events. Including budget oversight, management, reporting and reviewing and submitting expenses for reimbursement.

● Schedules, maintains, and confirms the Director of Development appointments, calendar and development activities.

● Assists the Director of Development in preparation for meetings with all St. Luke’s constituents including agendas, tech set-up, and meeting minutes.

● Utilizes the Development office donor database to support the Director of Development’s projects and fundraising activities.

● Participates as an enthusiastic member of the Development team as we plan for the school’s historic Centennial.

● Support a welcoming environment for all St. Luke’s constituents and guests interacting with the Development Office. Act as office representative via phone, email, and in-person, daily and at Development events.

● Oversees management of office purchases and supplies.

● Coordinate events as determined by the Director of Development.

● Performs other duties as assigned.

Key Skills and Qualities:

● Ability to work and communicate effectively, in writing and by phone.

● Proficiency and comfort with technology, database systems, event planning, and expertise with Microsoft Office and Google Suite including spreadsheets and PowerPoint.

● Raiser’s Edge BlackBaud NXT experience.

● Professional discretion handling confidential information.

● Excellent organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.

● A collaborative spirit and strong team ethic.

● Bachelor's Degree preferred and nonprofit experience a plus.

● Commitment to Equity and Inclusion, with strong cultural competency skills.
