Position Summary: 

Responsible for performing clinical duties in physician practices. May be asked to perform clerical and administrative duties as well. Displays maturity, flexibility, and effective organization and communication skills in dealing with other people. Works cooperatively with other departments and promotes teamwork within the department. Rooms patients, obtains and documents vital signs, administers injections and medications, performs EKGs and other point of care testing and treatments, triages phone calls and electronic messages, and performs check-out. Maintains a pleasant, efficient, and well-organized working environment. Responsible for promoting teamwork with all members of the healthcare team. Performs duties in a manner consistent with St. Luke’s mission and values.

Education, Experience, & Licensing Requirements:  

Education: High School Diploma required 

Experience: Experience in a medical office or hospital department, or graduate of a medical assistant or medical administrative training program strongly preferred. Established clinical skills and expertise in vital sign accuracy, EKGs, medication administration, and point-of-care testing strongly preferred. Basic insurance knowledge and strong EMR/documentation skills preferred. Good verbal skills required. 

Licensure: RMA, CMA, or comparable certification preferred.
