St. Louis County, MO is Hiring a Police Camera Systems Specialist Near Clayton, MO

Performs a wide variety of duties involving the Department’s Body Worn Camera/In Car Camera/Interview Room System’s and mobile ALPR Program.
Per the Crime Laboratory’s Collective Bargaining Agreement, new hires with no experience shall start at the base of corresponding pay range for their position.

Examples of Duties

  • Aids commissioned and professional staff involved in the Camera Program.
  • Assists with maintaining Camera equipment and data generated by the Camera Program.
  • Prepares a variety of informational reports for Department Commanders.
  • Researches and monitors developments in the Body Worn Camera/In Car Camera arena.
  • Assists in development and implementation of Camera systems program improvements.
  • Process Sunshine Requests in accordance with Missouri State Laws and Department Policy.
  • Performs related work or other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Provide technical advice and guidance on installation, adaption, configuration, and/or enhancement of the body-worn and in-car camera systems.
  • Provides expertise for resolving technical problems.
  • Serves as a liaison with other Department work elements on administrative and technical matters relating to the camera systems.
  • Provides end-user training.
  • Performs guidance and work leadership to less-experienced officers and technicians.
  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies assigned.
  • Participates and/or manages special projects as required.
  • Interprets the Missouri Sunshine Law as it relates to the release and redaction of footage from the camera systems.
  • Redacts and edits camera footage in preparation for public release.
  • Assists Media Relations/Crime Against Persons with the release of camera footage for critical incidents.
  • Assists commissioned officers/detectives with video release for prosecution purposes.
  • Assist the Camera Administrator with the overall day-to-day operations to include camera systems hardware and computer software program (Equipment and Polaris/Titan systems).
  • Above average knowledge of computing, networks, software, connectivity, and computer hardware.
  • Extensive knowledge of Department computer systems.

Training and Experience
:
Persons seeking this assignment must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in law enforcement. Candidates must possess the ability to learn and implement new concepts and programs to succeed at this position.

:
This position may involve diagnosis and repair of body worn devices. Tools and training will be provided to aid in this task.

CITIZENSHIP: Citizen of the United States or valid work permit, and apply for citizenship when eligible.
AGE LIMITS: Eighteen (18) years of age at the time of appointment.
EDUCATION: Educational requirements and skills will be determined by the position classification.
ARREST: Must be free from conviction of a felony or a Class "A" misdemeanor.
MILITARY: Must not have a "Dishonorable"discharge or"Bad Conduct" discharge if having served in the military. All "Other Than Honorable"discharges will be reviewed on an individual basis.
