Ability to teach Practical Nursing (PN) and/or Registered Nursing (RN) curriculum courses. The courses includes classroom, clinical, and online teaching. Preparation of course materials including course syllabus and learning activities. Exam preparation and grading. Evaluation of student assignments. Other course instruction might be required.

Position Details:

• Provide quality instruction in a classroom, lab, and clinical setting while promoting critical thinking.
• Develop approved course syllabi, and daily lesson plans to meet course objectives and system evaluation process.
• Provide input into curriculum development, instructional methods, objectives, and philosophy.
• Provide constructive feedback to students to encourage effective actions and decisions.
• Ability to engage students while maintaining decorum in the classroom.
• Maintain student records of attendance and progress of students.
• Provide positive and professional guidance to students.
• Conduct formal student performance evaluations.
• Plan and supervises student clinical experience in assigned health care facilities.
• Evaluates student performance in relation to clinical learning outcomes in accordance with policies and procedures established by SLCHC Department of Nursing.
• Plans and implements orientation of new faculty in both theory and clinical facilities for the courses.
• Participate in committee activities that support the mission and function of the nursing program.
• Attend faculty meetings, professional development activities, and ongoing instructional meetings as required
• Comply with college policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

• MSN preferred, BSN required
• Minimum three years experience as a registered nurse
• Professional Missouri or compact nurse licensure required
• Previous classroom teaching/training experience preferred
• Excellent interpersonal communication, presentation, and leadership skills
• Ability to interact effectively and work collaboratively with a virtual team
