Responsibilities

The Neuro Acute & Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (6NNABC) at St Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center is a 48 bed Neurosurgery/Neurological/Epilepsy Monitoring medical/surgical/telemetry unit. The Neuro Acute & Epilepsy Monitoring Unit is part of the world renowned Barrow Neurological Institute. The staff take care of complex neurological and neurosurgical patients including patients with traumatic brain injuries spinal injuries brain tumors spine surgeries stroke migraine patients with epilepsy who need further in-patient evaluation and many other conditions. The members of this team are trained to be clinical experts in their field. We have a very extensive training program and many opportunities to participate in unit quality and performance improvement teams. The Neuro Acute & Epilepsy Monitoring Unit is an excellent place to learn and grow both personally and professionally. 

Assess patient/family health problems and resources taking a leadership role in the development implementation and outcomes evaluation of a plan for nursing care. Provides professional nursing care and interventions to acutely ill adult patient populations. Position requires providing service to one or more age groups including young adults through geriatric patients in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individual served. Position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of the organization. It is expected that the employee demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values. The employee will support the organization's strategic plan and the goals and direction of the hospital wide performance improvement plan.

Qualifications

Minimum:

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. AZ RN license American Heart Association BLS certificationACLS certification 

Preferred:

BSNProfessional certification in area of specialtyOne year recent acute care experience
