This position works under the direction and supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor and the Director of Facilities Management to ensure that the buildings and grounds are properly maintained.
All work is performed within a systems-based framework and a psycho-educational model. Work is performed collaboratively with and in support of other services offered by St. Joseph's Villa. Work is performed safely, effectively, to the highest ethical standards, and in accordance with regulatory and accrediting standards and St. Joseph’s Villa’s mission, values, and guiding principles.
Assists with structural repairs to masonry, woodwork, glass, sheetrock or plaster, and furnishings of buildings and similar structures. Paints interiors and exteriors.
Assists with maintaining and repairing utility systems such as electrical wiring, controls, and heating, ventilating, and steam generating systems.
Assists with maintaining and repairing plumbing, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems.
Assists with maintaining and repairing roofs, eaves, and rooftop ventilation systems.
Assists with servicing and repairing vehicles, tractors, lawn mowers and all motorized equipment.
Assists with repairing fences, gates, walls, walks.
Assists in the operation of and maintenance on the central heating plant.
Assists with routine preventive maintenance including but not limited to lubrication, changing filters, re-calibration, cleaning coils and vents.
Assists with cleaning steam vents.
Picks up and delivers donated furniture and other large items.
Moves furniture and equipment as needed.
Promotes good community relations by exhibiting professional courtesy and conduct both on and off campus.
Participates in staff meetings and other staff and program group activities.
Evaluates work processes and methods and submits recommendations for continuous quality improvement.
Attends scheduled training programs for professional development that includes, at a minimum, trainings required by St. Joseph’s Villa and by regulatory and accrediting bodies.
Performs other duties as assigned.
HS Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma preferred. Must have valid Virginia drivers license and excellent driving record. 6 months related experience. Able to use Windows, Outlook, and proprietary software.
