St. Joseph’s Collegiate Institute, an all-boys Lasallian Catholic high school in Buffalo, NY,
announces an opening for the position of Religion Teacher, to begin work in August 2024. The
successful candidate will be able to inspire our students to grow in their faith while engaging
them in the classroom through well-planned, interactive and faith-filled religion lessons.
Candidate Profile:
Content expertise, a desire and ability to teach students from diverse backgrounds on an
individual level, and a love for the Catholic faith are all required.
Effective communication skills, a willingness to actively engage our students in their learning,
and an eagerness to be active in the life of the school community are additional musts.
A Bachelor's degree is required. A completed (or in-progress) master’s degree in Education,
Religious Studies, or a related field is preferable.
The Religion Teacher reports to the Principal and will work collaboratively with students,
faculty, and administrators.
Compensation:
Starting salary ranges from $37,000-$65,000, based on experience, and in accordance with the
St. Joseph’s Faculty Organization’s negotiated contract. Additional compensation is available for
candidates with advanced degrees.
