Position Summary
The Education Specialist, or Licensed Dietitian, assesses and makes recommendations to meet the nutritional needs of patients, provides nutritional counseling and serves as a member of the patient care team. In addition to planning, designing, coordinating and evaluating educational programs in the St. Joseph's/Candler Health System, in disease management programs and in the community, to support the mission, vision, strategic direction and operational needs of the St. Joseph's/Candler Health System.
Education
● Licensed Dietitian or Bachelors in Nursing degree - Required
Experience
● 2-3 Years clinical experience - Required
● One year experience working with a diabetic or special patient population.
License & Certification
● Professional License with State of Practice - Required
● Registration with Commission on Dietetic Registration - Required
● Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist with the American Association of Diabetes Educators or a National Certification in Special Populations is preferred within 12 months of hire date.
