Position Summary:

The Advanced Emergency Department Care Technician is responsible for performing quality patient care in an expanded in-hospital scope of practice in accordance with MRS Title 32, §3270-A. ASSISTANTS; DELEGATING AUTHORITY, and as such are defined as “medical assistants” in the intent of this statue. Performs patient transport for the inpatient areas and cleans / retrieves / re-allocates patient equipment to its proper location.

Education:

• High School Diploma/GED Two year college (Associate’s Degree)
• Trade or Technical School (Certificate or diploma)

Years of Experience: ) 3 – 5 years

Licensure(s): None required

Certification(s): BLS, ACLS and PALS within 30 days of employment

Registration(s):

• Proof of current or prior paramedic licensure
• Completion of Maine EMS Paramedic Interfacility Transfer (PIFT) training preferred
• Advanced Paramedic Certifications preferred
