Responsibilities

In keeping with the Dignity Health core values the Medical Transcriptions is responsible for coordination of all department dictation and transcription services and their timely preparation.

Interfaces with the hospital information system to integrate transcribed reports into the patients electronic chart. Prepares final hard copy of transcribed report and distributes copies as required.

Qualifications

• Five years prior diagnostic imaging medical transcription experience.
• Previous lead or supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to work tactfully and effectively with fellow staff members physicians and the patient population.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Excellent typing / transcription skills at a level of 60 WPM using and IBM compatible computer with a variety of software applications.

Thorough knowledge of correct English usage grammar spelling vocabulary and punctuation.

• Excellent interpersonal skills. Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision has initiative and is self motivated.
• Ability to work on several projects at the same time with constant interruption.
• Demonstrates leadership skills.
• Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire.
