Extended Day Aide – Elementary (Part Time)

$15.00 - $16.28 per hour

Extended Day Aide – Elementary (Part Time):

St. Johns County School District is looking for compassionate and dedicated Extended Day Aides to work with elementary students in our Extended Day Programs. Candidates will serve as a group leader to provide a safe, positive, structured environment for 20-25 students. Applicants must enjoy working in a school setting, possess the ability to plan and coordinate activities, and be able to establish positive relationships with children.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualities:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Verified work experience of one year, preferably with children
• 40-hour child care training certificate preferred
• CPR and First Aid certified
• Ability to relate to children as well as adults
• Willing to be trained in computer use
• Satisfactory criminal background check and drug screening
• Willing to complete all required in-service training in the following areas: CPR/First Aid Certification within 12 months of date of employment; programs required by the director of the staff relating to communicative and management skills; 40 hours of program training

Compensation:

• 190 work days
• Paid training
• No nights or weekends
• Summers off
• Flexible hours (based on school necessity)
• Enrollment in the Florida Retirement System
