St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners is seeking a Part-time Recreation Assistant for our well-established Parks & Recreation Department whose headquarters are located in beautiful St. Augustine, Florida.

St Johns County Parks & Recreation is responsible for providing safe, fun, and healthy recreational opportunities to residents and visitors, alike. Our county boasts nearly 50 active and passive parks, 12 boat ramps, 7 community centers, over 40 miles of scenic coastline, a fishing pier, an 18-hole golf course, and hundreds of youth and adult activities and programs. Our department is as diverse as the natural ecosystems that surround us. The Parks & Recreation Department works together as a team to create outstanding programming that makes recreational opportunities available to our whole community.
A newly appointed Recreation Assistant will be responsible for assisting in the coordination and implementation of recreation programs within the span of their control and within the department. This position is posted primarily at the Ketterlinus Gym in St. Augustine. This position is part-time with an average of 20 hours per week working with our afterschool enrichment program, along with summer camp, and special events.
