St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners is seeking a Maintenance Worker for our well established Road & Bridge Division whose headquarters are located in beautiful St. Augustine, Florida.

The St. Johns County Road & Bridge Division is responsible for the maintenance of St. Johns County roads, bridges and drainage systems. This includes but is not limited to roadway and pothole patching, sidewalk construction and replacement, drainage pipe and structure cleaning and replacing, ditch excavating, tree trimming and removal, roadside mowing, etc.
Employees work cooperatively as part of maintenance crews to complete work in a safe and effective manner. Safety is the #1 priority at Road & Bridge. Maintenance Workers have the opportunity for advancement, including a pay increase, upon successfully obtaining a commercial driver’s license and maintenance of traffic certification. On-the-job training for these qualifications is offered. The goal at Road & Bridge is to provide a safe and efficient transportation system to ensure the mobility of people, goods and services in St. Johns County.
The newly selected Maintenance Worker will work as a member of a Road & Bridge to complete the work necessary to maintain St. Johns County’s roads, bridges and drainage systems.
