Salary Range: $84,000.00 Salary

Description

Job Summary: Provides on-site and continuous coverage for the Community Living program serving adults with disabilities; directs all the activities for program; oversees all program operations; develops and implements program operations; performs other job related duties as assigned.

Essential Functions:

  1. Provide on-site and continuous coverage for the Community Living program-serving adults with disabilities;
  2. Direct all the activities for Community Living program;
  3. Oversee all program operations;
  4. Develop and implement program operations;
  5. Ensure that all medical appointments are scheduled; ensure that all accidents are properly reported;
  6. Supervise program staff; evaluate, monitor, hire and terminate staff; review and approve staff time records;
  7. Serve as liaison with the day programs, other agencies, individuals, and related services staff and consultants and family members regarding administrative issues;
  8. Promote SJCS to other agencies; educate and increase awareness on SJCS activities;
  9. Monitor program budgets; assist with annual budget preparation; perform all monthly billing; ensure integrity of client funds;

10. Ensure compliance with all funding, regulatory and accrediting agency’s standards, as well as with internal program and personnel policies;

  1. Work with referral resources to determine if SJCS is right for new consumers;
  2. Attend and participate in all relevant agency events, workshops, training and meetings;
  3. Keep abreast by reading periodicals and specialized announcements;
  4. Provide coverage when there is a staffing need; and
  5. Perform other job related duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  1. Ability to gain thorough knowledge of St. John’s Community Services policies and procedures;
  2. Ability to act as a representative of St. John’s Community Services to the public;
  3. Ability to provide 24/7 coverage for program;
  4. Knowledge of the principles, practices, and procedures of administrative management, and the ability to interpret them to the staff and the public;
  5. Extensive knowledge of program practices and procedures;
  6. Knowledge of budget preparation and maintenance;
  7. Ability to keep the all relevant parties informed of all major issues and programs and to recommend changes as appropriate;
  8. Ability to supervise, plan, and coordinate the work of diverse staff in order to accomplish departmental goals and objectives;
  9. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, subordinates, representatives from other agencies, and the general public;
  10. Ability to use sound judgment when making decisions;

Skilled in the operation of relevant computer systems, including hardware and software, and office machines.

Qualifications


Education and Experience:

  1. B.A. /B.S. degree in Psychology, Social Work, Rehabilitation or related field required; Master’s preferred.
  2. Requires five or more years’ experience of direct service with adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities, preferably in a community based residential setting;
  3. One year supervisory experience required;
  4. Must meet current SJCS and funding jurisdiction requirements for criminal background/records check.
  5. Must meet current SJCS and funding jurisdiction requirements for valid health certificate.
  6. Valid state-issued driver’s license with current driving record in good standing required.

Physical and Environmental Conditions:

Work requires no unusual demand for physical effort.

Work environment involves risks or discomforts that require special safety precautions e.g. safely operating a motor vehicle, exposure to aggressive human behavior.
