Responsibilities

The nurse practitioner works as a member of our medical team to help deliver quality care to our patients. The NP will practice under the supervision of the attending physicians, in a comprehensive office and hospital-based practice and assist with procedures, as necessary. The NP is involved in the total care of the Hospital's patients from admission to discharge and outpatient follow up. 

Perform consultations (inpatient)Follow up with patients (inpatient and outpatient) Contact patients with lab and test results as needed Performs other related assigned duties.Provide on call coverage Performs unrelated duties in times of emergency. Sits, stands, bends, lifts, and moves intermittently during working hours. Possible exposure to patient body substances, with potential/actual infectious diseases. Possible exposure to potentially hazardous materials/conditions, (i.e. noise, chemicals, CRT, electrical equipment, etc.). Exposure to equipment with moving parts and sharp objects.

Qualifications

Possession of a current valid license to practice nursing in New York State, Master of Science Degree.Certification as a Nurse Practitioner in New York State with at least one (1) year experience. Gastroenterology experience preferred. Spanish speaking preferred.
