JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 3 years of experience in customer service management or event coordination.
Must be articulate, confident and detail oriented.
Must have excellent communication and problem-solving skills to lead and inspire fellow employees enthusiastically and effectively.
Competent in computer programs such as Microsoft office and event planning.
Flexible availability to work during functions, which may include days, nights, and weekends.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
· Team members must, at all times, be attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to all guests, managers, and co-workers. Reports to Event Director.
· Dressed in professional and respectful attire, at all times.
· Inspect the set-up of meeting and event functions, checking them against the Event Order/Worksheet.
· Supervise and assist with the set-up of assigned catered and self-hosted functions, ensuring that St. John Armenian Church’s standards are met, and advance preparation for service is adequate to allow efficient service to the guest once the function begins.
· Direct and coordinate vendor deliveries when necessary.
· Act as liaison between Event Director and the in-house meeting or event contact.
· Respond to guests needs in a timely manner. Communicate problems/issues to the Event Director or Kitchen Manager.
· Schedule event staff as necessary for all functions.
· Assist in service of functions as required.
· Requisition liquor for all event bars and maintain proper control over event beverage service.
· Inventory liquor regularly, including preceding and following all events.
· Supervise and assist with the break down after the completion of functions to ensure that all equipment and supplies are stored properly.
· Inspect the sanitation of all function space and storage areas to maintain the highest standard of cleanliness and organization throughout the department and all areas of the building following an event.
· Follow all state liquor laws.
· Be familiar with event menus and prices.
· Supervise event staff as directed by the Event Director.
· Hold pre-function meetings, and check staffing and menus, prior to events.
· Assign side-work duties and stations to all servers.
· Supervise service of station or event room.
· Prepare event invoices and receive final payments where necessary and obtain signatures from guest contacts.
· Monitor ongoing functions throughout assigned shifts.
· Supervise the breakdown and cleanup of all functions assigned.
· Verify event staff hours and pay when event is complete.
· Prepare accurate reports.
· Handle items for "Lost and Found" according to the standards.
· Administer and create content for SJAC Events social media accounts.
