Description
Job Summary: Clinical Laboratory Technicians are not allowed to work without supervision. Clinical Laboratory Technologists are allowed to work without supervision. Performs and interprets testing for use in the treatment and diagnosis of disease. Utilizes established procedures and analyzes specimens using chemical, macroscopic & microscopic means via automated and manual methods as defined.

Requirements
Education & Experience
BS or AAS and limited permit or state licensure required.
Physical Demands
Ability to solve practical problems and make responsible decisions.
Language Ability
Ability to read, write and interpret documents in English such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific/trade/technical journals. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers or regulatory agencies. Ability to speak clearly to patients and staff, as well as physicians.
Math Ability
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and make responsible decisions. Strong verbal, organizational and interpersonal skills are required. Knowledge of medical terminology, the ability to multitask, critical thinking skills, proficiency in computer software & databases are necessary. Successful completion of on-site training/orientation process is required.
Working Conditions
Potential exposure to chemicals, communicable diseases, and related waste.
