Position Type: Full Time, Exempt Job Description: 5th Grade Homeroom Teacher We are seeking a qualified full-time 5th grade self-contained homeroom teacher who preferably has experience working in a Catholic private school setting. The 5th grade teacher will be proficient in all core subject areas of math, science, English language arts, social studies and religion. S/he will share a growth mindset, hold students to high expectations and have an aptitude for social emotional teaching.
Requirements/Qualifications: The successful candidate will ● preferably speak Spanish to help aid in communication with some of our families ● understand the mission of Catholic schools ● possess exceptional organizational skills ● be proficient with computer technology including word processing, google suite, google classroom, google calendar, email and a variety of adaptive teaching software (Freckle, Amplify Science, Brain Pop, CTN, Generation Genius, to name a few..) ● have demonstrated professionalism, flexibility, empathy and care in collaboration with colleagues ● have excellent communication skills with stakeholders including parents and colleagues ● preferably have three or more years of teaching experience with the 5th grade level ● possess a valid CA teaching credential or have a credential/license from another state ● preferably have earned a Master’s degree in
Education or a related field Our team of professionals is looking for a colleague to work as a part of a teaching family dedicated to taking students to their highest academic potential and will cultivate their gifts to serve others. Teachers are dedicated to the implementation of our curriculum and the academic success of every student. Faculty have been trained in Blended Learning and utilize Freckle software in a classroom rotational teaching model. St. James seeks teachers who are committed to continuously improving their teaching practice while serving as a model of the Catholic faith.
Candidates will be proficient in: ● Establishing a nurturing classroom environment and practices that encourage and strengthen a strong, positive Catholic culture throughout the school. ● Creating lessons that utilize Archdiocesan approved textbooks and employ methodologies and strategies inclusive to the different learning styles of the students. ● The Archdiocesan Curriculum Guidelines and the California Common Core State Standards, in alignment with our Schoolwide Learning Expectations, provide the basis for instruction. Salary/Benefits Salary Range: Teachers are paid based on the published salary scale from the Archdiocese of San Francisco Department of Catholic Schools. Full time teachers are eligible for benefits. To ensure the highest level of instruction for our students, training and professional development opportunities are held throughout the school year.
