St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church in Pompano Beach, Florida has an opening for a Temporary part-time Maintenance/Custodial Person. This position is responsible for the execution of tasks, that support the maintenance and improvement of the grounds, facilities, and related equipment of all properties of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church. The Maintenance Person performs all duties and responsibilities in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of the Catholic Archdiocese of Miami.

Schedule: 25 hours/week.

Qualifications and Tasks:

• High-school diploma or G.E.D.; or two years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Cleans the interior of buildings including floors, carpet, rugs, windows, walls, and toilets.
• Disinfects commonly used items like desks, door handles, office tools, and phones.
• Maintains inventory for cleaning materials, placing orders for new products when needed.
• Maintains outdoor grounds & trims small bushes.
• Removes debris from sidewalks, parking lot and roofs.
• Empties trash and recycling bins.
• Cleans outside the Rectory.
• Changes light bulbs.
• Does some messenger work such as going to the Post Office, Office Depot, Sam’s store, etc.
• Good time management, including ability to manage several projects at the same time.
• Opens/closes church or/and classrooms at given time for ministry meetings.
• Opens and locks church and classrooms doors at specific times.
• Pleasant, service-oriented demeanor.
• Supportive of the mission and tenets of the Roman Catholic Church.
• Able to bend, climb stairs and lift and move heavy (up to 25 pounds) objects.
