Employment Status: Part-Time

FLSA Status: Non-exempt/Hourly

Work Schedule: 20 - 25 hours per week

Sunday, 7:30am – 1:30pm or 6:30pm – 8:30pm; Monday, off or 7:30am – 11:30am;

Tuesday, 7:30am – 12:30pm; Wednesday, 7:30am – 11:30am or 6:00 pm – 8:00pm;

Thursday, 7:30am – 11:30am or 12:30pm – 4:30pm; Friday, off or 7:30am – 12:30pm

Saturday, 4:30pm – 6:30 pm or off / Schedule may vary, must be flexible

Reports to: Director of Religious Education 

Summary

The Liturgy Coordinator is responsible for supporting the Pastor, Priests, and Deacons with the Liturgical Events in the Church throughout the year. This includes providing support for Masses, Baptisms, Reconciliation, Quinceneras, Weddings, Funerals, Holy Days and Adoration. They work in collaboration with all Ministries, and the Spanish Ministry Coordinator to ensure consistency within all Masses, Liturgical Events and Adult Education programs offered in the Parish. Additionally, they are accountable to recruit, train, schedule, and coach all the Lay Ministers within the SEAS Community. 

Responsibilities 

· Directs and plans all liturgical activities to ensure integrity throughout the year.

· Attends daily and weekend masses ensuring that the Liturgical readings are correct for the day and celebration.

· Priest / Deacon vestments are appropriate to the date or celebration. 

· Plans and coordinates Reconciliation Services with the Pastor.

· Oversees the decorating of the Church for Advent, Christmas, Ordinary Time, Holy Week, Easter, and Pentecost. Coordinates with florist on flowers for the church.

· Maintains an inventory and orders all Church Supplies, Candles, Wine, Hosts, Sacramental Oils, Holy Books, Lectionaries, Missalettes, Palms, Ashes, Corporals, Purificators.

· Along with the Pastor, approves all Events that will take place in the Church Sanctuary and places these events on the Google calendar (Masses, Holy Days of Obligation, Baptisms, Reconciliation, 1st Communion, Confirmations, Quinceaneras, Weddings, Funerals, etc.).

· Orders all equipment and supplies for Adult Bible Studies and Adult Religious Education courses. 

· Keeps an accurate account of liturgical statistics including Mass attendance and lay minister sign-ins.

· Completes and submits the annual parish pew count with the Archdiocese of San Antonio.

· Recruits and trains all Liturgical Ministers, including Sacristans, Lectors, Eucharistic Ministers, Ushers, Greeters, Screen Operators and Mass Coordinators.

· Maintains all records and documents related to liturgical ministries.

· Responsible for protecting the confidentiality of any information or material obtained including but not limited to names, information, services rendered, donors names and gifts and financial information.

· Connects parishioners with ministries and parish resources that meet their needs.

· Able to perform all the Lay Ministry roles in the church. Provides back up and support as needed.

· Operates Audio / Visual systems during all Masses.

· Can trouble shoot all equipment (AV System, microphones, lighting etc.) inside the church.

· Attends and participates in meetings as scheduled.

Requirements

Minimum Knowledge and Skills

· Fully initiated and practicing Catholic.

· Working knowledge of all Microsoft Office programs, Google and Apple systems used in the Parish.

· Fluent in English required; Spanish bilingual preferred.

· Basic understanding of clerical procedures and systems such as recordkeeping and filing.

· Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, maintains confidentiality.

· Must be detail-oriented, organized, have effective time management skills, be self-motivated, ability to multi-task, and work well independently and on a team.

· Works weekends and Holy Days.

· Must have strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

· Ability to write reports, develop correspondence, and memos from draft, copy or dictation.

· Ability to speak effectively and respond to questions from diverse audiences.

Physical Demands / Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and occasionally required to climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds with assistance if needed. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
