Position Title: Building Engineer

Compensation (Pay/Benefits):

Our employees are our most valuable asset; therefore, we offer competitive pay and benefits. The pay range for these positions starts at $70,104 - $77,893 a year for full time, depending on qualifications (i.e., licensure and experience). This salary reflects a 40-hour workweek, annualized. Any agreed-upon reduction in weekly hours will be reflected in salary commensurately. Please inquire with interest. This position is benefits eligible, including health and dental insurance, health savings account with an employer contribution, flexible spending accounts, and retirement account with matching contribution. Additionally, we offer generous PTO, paid holiday schedule, childcare discount, and eligibility for loan forgiveness!

Schedule: 6:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Location: 1130 Nicollet Mall, Minneapolis, MN 55403

Program Summary:

Responsible for maintaining all building systems on an ongoing basis through building maintenance, preventative maintenance, project oversight, building systems operation, and response to work orders. Requires proficient knowledge of facilities and engineering management, including general building maintenance, building and controls systems, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, mechanical equipment maintenance, and steam heating systems. Requires basic knowledge of building design, building code, and overall building and grounds tasks and problem solving. This position reports to the Director of Facilities and Risk Management for the St. David's Center Nicollet Mall location.

Position Overview:

  • Perform assigned work orders, preventive maintenance, building projects, general repairs, and emergency repairs, including HVAC, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and other general maintenance.
  • Assist in managing various systems, including building automation, keys/fobs, cameras, fire alarm, HVAC, and other building systems.
  • Provide excellent customer service and act as a resource to staff, clients, and guests concerning building-related needs.
  • Communicate with and work with outside vendors, partnering with them as a representative of St. David's Center.
  • Respond to safety and security concerns and emergency situations with urgency, following established protocols.

Job Qualifications:

Education

  • Trade school a plus; High School or GED required.

Experience

  • 5 plus years of hands-on building operation and engineering experience
  • 5 plus years of HVAC equipment and systems experience
  • Boiler 1st Class Engineer, Grace C license or above
  • EPA Refrigerant Recovery Certificate, preferred.
