Job Summary and Qualifications

Job Summary

As a Transporter, you will transport patients to and from the department and assist the technologist as needed to prepare the patient for the procedure. You will assist in clinical areas as well as the reception desks, and will work closely with other healthcare team members to facilitate exceptional patient care and efficient completion of diagnostic studies.

  • You will ensure proper handling of patients with comfort and safety
  • You will escort patients to and from the department, and verify orders, isolation status, and patient identity
  • You will operate multiple modes of transportation and ensure availability or transport equipment
  • You will complete the patient safety checklist prior to transport
  • You will prepare the procedure room for exams and ensure appropriate supplies are available in the room
  • You will assist patients with completion of records, documents, and assessments
  • You will ensure equipment is properly functioning and will handle malfunctions

Job Requirements

Experience

  • 1 year of experience as a Transporter – preferred
  • 1 year of direct patient care experience – preferred

Education

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent

Licenses and Certifications

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
