Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Dietary Technician, you will perform a variety of clerical tasks related to maintaining accurate patient diet orders and preparation of the patient meal orders. As a part of the healthcare team, you will communicate with hospital personnel to achieve the overall objectives of the Food service department.

• You will be responsible for obtaining and maintaining current patient diet information
• You will monitor the tray line food quality and confirm proper adherence to dietary restrictions per patient
• You will assist patients with selections that are available to them based on nutritional restrictions
• You will assist in tray delivery across the hospital to patient rooms
• You will be responsible for excellent phone etiquette with all callers including patients, family members, nursing, doctors, and other hospital personnel

What qualifications you will need:

Experience

• 1 year of clerical or food service experience in a healthcare setting – preferred
• Experience using HealthTouch Room Service Dinning Software – preferred

Education

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Licenses and Certifications

• Current ServSafe Food Handler Permit, Williamson County Health Department Food Handler Card or State Food Safety permit within 7 days of hire
