Job Objective:

As an Intervention Specialist, you deliver high-quality lessons across educational settings and content areas. You evaluate children across grade bands in order to obtain the information necessary for intervention planning, consultation, and to develop instructional plans that help meet the educational needs of each student. The children we serve face a variety of developmental, educational, and speech and language challenges they are working to overcome. You will collaborate with grade level teachers and our intervention team/aides, and use your Intervention Specialist expertise to improve the lives of children in ways that are enjoyable and rewarding!

Minimum Qualifications:

• Intervention Specialist License
• Bachelor's Degree
• BCI/FBI background check
• Virtus training (or willing to be trained)

Essential Functions:

• Collaborate with a Special Education team, classroom teachers, and families.
• Design and implement lessons across educational settings and content areas.
• Teaches and supports special education students and their teachers while working closely with the Special Education team for their grade level(s).
• Obtains the information necessary for the planning, consultation, and development of plans that help meet the functional and educational needs of each student served.
• In addition to inclusion classes, works with individual or small groups of students in pull-out sessions to work on basic skills or IEP goals.
• Works to guide, support, and encourage students with learning disabilities, Autism, orthopedic impairments, ADHD, and other health impairments or challenges.
• Advises and collaborates with school personnel and colleagues on how to best reach and teach each individual student.
• Participates in all meetings concerning students on one’s caseload and contributes pertinent information such as data, assessments, observations and analysis, etc. to identify each student’s individual needs.
• Is an advocate, a mentor, an inspiration, and a cheerleader to the students they work with!

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $35,000.00 per year

Expected hours: 40 per week
