Adult Program Coordinator Sign-On Bonus

St. Coletta of Greater Washington is a non-sectarian, nonprofit organization that supports individuals with intellectual disabilities, autism, and secondary disabilities.

We are currently seeking an Adult Program Coordinator who will be responsible for the safety and well-being of adult program participants.

Work includes developing achievable goals and objectives for assigned program participants as well as working with the individuals to meet these goals and objectives.

Examples of Essential Functions

• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with outside employers and organizations.
• Assist in the development of customized employment for Participants.
• Meet with Participants and assist them in identifying career-related interests and goals.
• Conduct mock interviews with Participants.
• Plan and organize job search skills workshops including interview, resume preparation, and other skills.
• Evaluate the skills of the Participants as it relates to employment.
• Develop and present information to potential employers.
• Work with the team to ensure Participants are prepared before going to job interviews and conduct follow-up assessments.
• Work closely with employers to maximize employment retention and success.
• Provide evaluation and mediation between employer and employee post job placement.
• Assist participants on job sites with instruction, modeling and prompting as needed.
• Maintain a professional, responsive and supportive relationship with supervisors, co-workers and participants and their families.
• Report participant incidents immediately to administration; if the event involved the participant's safety, a written incident report must also be completed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

Bachelors degree preferred with a mininium of High School Diploma or GED and prior job coach experience working with people with intellectual disabilities.

Must be at least 18 years of age.

• A special skill in cooking, weaving, gardening, textile, or fine arts is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to fulfill the dexterity and physical requirements of the work, and effectively attend to the needs of adults with intellectual disabilities
• Ability to maintain effective working relationships with co-workers as well as program participants and their family members, residential providers and significant others as needed.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow directions found in manuals such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and other procedure manuals.
• Requires strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
