This adjunct position will remain open for 1 year to allow departments’ access to candidate pools when there is a need to hire an adjunct to teach a course(s) during defined academic semester(s).

The successful candidate is expected to establish and maintain a professional goal to become an outstanding teacher-scholar through the use of research-based, best-practices pedagogy. They are expected to teach using both in-person and alternative delivery methods such as online and hybrid. They will regularly engage in ongoing professional development and innovation opportunities focused on pedagogical growth. Job Description
St. Cloud State University is seeking applications for potential adjunct instructors who qualify to teach in the College of Health and Wellness Professions – Department of Kinesiology.
The Department of Kinesiology requests applications for part-time adjunct instructors for selected undergraduate and graduate courses in our Community Health programs.
Courses may include Principles of Nutrition, Personal and Community Health, Consumer Health, Theory and Foundation, Public Health, International Health, Drugs in Society, Advanced Nutrition, Human Sexuality, Health Promotions as well as oversite of student practicum and internship experiences.
Required Qualifications
  • Earned master’s degree in Public Health, Community Health, Health Promotion, Kinesiology or closely related field at time of application
  • The ability to teach days, weekends, and online
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Commitment to student engagement, mentoring and success
  • Evidence of demonstrating ability to teach and work with persons from culturally diverse backgrounds
Preferred Qualifications
  • Doctorate degree or ABD in Public Health, Health Promotion, Kinesiology, Education Field, or closely related field
  • Previous experience teaching at the university or college level for a minimum of 1-year
  • Experience supervising undergraduates and graduate students
  • Active engagement in the professional community of your discipline
  • Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES). Use of technology in teaching, including online classes
