Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision from the Ultrasound Charge technologist Director of Imaging and indirect supervision from the Imaging Medical Director performs a variety of routine diagnostic ultrasound procedures on a specific shift. Performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures according to established standards and department policies. Prepares diagnostic ultrasound procedures for interpretation in accordance with established department policies and procedures. Also performs a variety of other duties including scheduling procedures answering telephones and interacting with other departmental and hospital employees. This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of St. Bernardine Medical Center. It is expected that the employee will demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values. The employee shall support St. Bernardine Medical Center’s strategic plan and the goals and direction of the quality improvement/process improvement activities.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • One year experience as a diagnostic medical sonographer in a hospital/clinic setting preferred.
  • American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (A.R.D.M.S) required.
  • BLS - Basic Life Support
  • Registered Vascular Tech (RVT) preferred.
