The Registered Nurse Medical/Surgical provides professional nursing care to patients within an assigned unit of the hospital in support of medical care directed by physician(s). In this role the Registered Nurse must be clinically competent practicing at the highest level of the RN licensure; collaborating with providers and multidisciplinary care team members to provide the best care to patients. The Registered Nurse utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation; and effectively interacts with patients, friends, family, and other healthcare staff while promoting best practices, and maintaining standards of professional nursing.
